There are more than 400 documented shipwrecks lying stranded on Bermuda's treacherous reefs, which extend from shore to several miles out to sea. Here you can dive 500 years of maritime history from Spanish galleons of the 16th century to turn-of-the-20th-century luxury liners and Chinese freighters sunk intentionally in the '90s.
In between are Civil War blockade runners, a World War II schooner loaded with ampules of morphine, late treasure hunter Mel Fisher's tugboat-and virtually every type of vessel that's ever sailed the bounding main.

Our own little piece of paradise for a week will be the unique 9 Beaches Resort located on the southwest corner of the island surrounded by blue and turquoise waters. 9 Beaches in Bermuda offers plenty of secluded pink sand beaches and swimming areas along with a wide choice of other activities within steps of your private cabana.

Our dive hosts for the week will be Blue Water Divers. Bermuda has the most northerly coral reef in the world and it is truly expansive. Most people associate wreck diving with deep water, but not in Bermuda. All of our diving is shallow (average 45-50 ft) offering plenty of "bottom time" to explore!
The reef system is healthy featuring large sea fans and huge finger (Candelabra) corals. The fringing reef system is home for a vast quantity of reef life.
Shipwreck Certificate Program
We can also participate in the Bermuda Shipwreck Certificate Program offered by local dive operators. For each of the specific wrecks you dive, you will receive a beautiful parchment paper certificate issued in your name and the date of dive with a brief narrative of the wreck's history. These are great collector items for the wreck diver and a great trip memento!
