BlueWater Lake
Oronogo, Missouri

Find Out More About The Quarry

This former lead and zinc mine offers a range of opportunities from the beginning diver to the advanced technical diver. A variety of sunken attractions can be reached in less than 100' in this 14-acre lake. Technical divers can explore the many mining shafts and tunnels down deep.

To get to Joplin, take Hy 44 West from St. Louis—Joplin is app. 1 hr. drive past Springfield, near the Kansas border. There are many hotels and great restaurants in Joplin, as well as a few nearly-interesting tourist things.  From Joplin, take Range Line Rd. (where most hotels are) North.  The name of the road will change to Madison and then to Hy MM.  Just past the very small town of Oronogo you will see the facility on the left.  Look for the lighthouse and a large steel shed-like building.
