The PADI Public Safety Diver course familiarizes divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques and hazards of public safety diving. It establishes a solid public safety diving foundation and includes basic rescue skills (both surface and underwater), knot tying, arc search techniques, victim recovery, tender responsibilities, communications and rescue techniques for a distressed public safety diver.
Specialty course certification also counts as one of
five Specialty certifications required for Master Scuba

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
Minimum age is18 years old
PADI Rescue Diver course certification is an exit requirement
